Packet loss can be detrimental to streaming audio causing pops and clicks. While there are several solutions to this problem, the intention is to increase the quality of reconstructed speech while keeping the cost of computation low. To attain this goal the Linear prediction based packet loss concealment method will be studied and implement. Linear prediction based algorithims extract the residual signal of the previously received speech by linear prediction analysis, uses periodic replication to generate an approximation for the excitation signal of missing speech, and generates synthesized speech using this excitation. This algorithm will be compared to other algorithms by subjective quality tests under various conditions. Shortcomings of this algorithm will be evaluated and enhancements to further improve the audio quality will be suggested.
Congress is currently wrestling with telecommunications reform on whether to allow telecoms to prioritize packets in this way.
Large Web sites offer me most of what I want when I surf the Net. But smaller sites are typically the ones that offer innovative services or radical improvements on existing services. Would Google have grown to its current prominence if Yahoo had been able to pay ISPs to make its site run much faster? Perhaps, perhaps not. The pay-to-prioritize scheme automatically favors large, established players who already have a customer and revenue base and can afford the rates. What will we miss out on if smaller sites have even less chance of being seen?

The government wants a list all requests entered into Google's search engine during an unspecified single week — a breakdown that could conceivably span tens of millions of queries. In addition, it seeks 1 million randomly selected Web addresses from various Google databases.
